Hello, thanks for your questions. Here’s what we can share:
Are British Airways recruiting cabin crew in 2025?
At the moment, there are no live recruitment campaigns for cabin crew roles. Hiring is entirely driven by operational needs, so timing can vary. We recommend keeping an eye on the official British Airways careers page, and signing up for job alerts so you’ll be notified as soon as roles become available.
What are the height (and reach) requirements?
British Airways does conduct a Functionality Check, which includes a height-and-reach assessment to ensure candidates can perform essential tasks like opening aircraft doors and operating safety equipment.
- The minimum vertical reach is 2.01 m. To meet this requirement, you will generally need to be at least 1.575 m (approx. 5 ft 2 in) tall.
- There is also a maximum height of 2.01 m, meaning applicants taller than this may face restrictions.
During the check, you’ll be asked to hold a handle with one hand and touch a tag on the floor with the other, mimicking the release of the evacuation slide. The clothing you wear should allow room to bend and move comfortably.

I hope that helps 😊
