To my knowledge, we have flight crew who commute from all over. However, they tend to make sure they are close to base when they are on roster, therefore I assume you would want to position yourself more locally.

For Heathrow based cabin crew colleagues you'll have 2 hours and 30 minutes from called from home standby to begin duty. Gatwick based colleagues home standby call out time to report for duty is 2 hours.

Generally there is no prescriptive time however when you must be acclimatised and fit for flying duties, well and rested.
