How close do I need to live to Heathrow?

I live in Buntingford, Hertfordshire, a 58 mile drive away and on a good day with the M25 it can take up to 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Heathrow. When on stand by, this could be difficult since I believe you need to be there within 1.5 hours of the call from crew scheduling. Thank you!

    Hello, 

    For Heathrow based cabin crew, you'll have have 2 hours and 30 minutes from called from home standby to begin duty. Generally there is no prescriptive time however you must be acclimatised and fit for flying duties, well and rested.
