I am 5ft and 17 and I've always wanted to be a pilot and apply to this programme is there any way I can still do it?

    Hi Sreenidhi.

The height limitation of 5ft 2 is a firm limit and you will not meet eligibility requirements for this scheme. There are other schemes that provide opportunites with other airlines which may have different limits depending on the aircraft you would be flying.

Look around for different opportunities and do not give up on the idea of being a pilot. This is not the only way.

    We wish you luck.

What other ways are there for people who can't because of financial difficulty? Especially when the only reason holding them back from this programme is a 4-5cm height difference they can't control.

Please bear in mind this is not a dig at your response, its just an honest question from someone in the same position.

Height and reach are limiting factors in certain jobs and being a pilot is one of these jobs. If you are 4-5 cm shorter than our limit it may be worth getting a functionality check done at a flying school to see if this is a realistic job for you.

There are other sponsored schemes with other airlines and they may have different specifications. It will be worth having a look.

Wishing you all the best with finding a way.
