I was just curious about the social media checks during the pre-employment checks at that time? thank you

Anonymous asked a question to Charlotte B.

As I am 14 and starting my career journey I would like to be the best I can be, I use social media a lot and I recently came across digital footprints in school and learnt that employees can see it too. I just dont want to do everything perfect then my digital background to let me down.

We encourage all candidates to be mindful of their online presence as part of their professional profile. While our pre-employment screening focuses on role-specific requirements, we expect all employees to uphold our company values in all aspects of their professional conduct.

As you start your career journey, here are some tips to manage your digital footprint:

    • Review your privacy settings – Ensure personal posts are only visible to trusted people.
    • Think before you post – Consider how your content might be viewed by future employers.
    • Google yourself – Check what appears when you search your name and adjust accordingly.
    • Use social media positively – Engage with content that reflects your interests, learning, and career aspirations.

By being mindful of your online presence, you can help ensure that it positively reflects your personal and professional brand.
