Must you stay at your assigned airport base in your career? Can you change throughout career?

I'm an aspiring pilot and I'm hoping to be accepted onto a speedbird funded pilot course and part of the prep material suggests you may be asked for a specified base (out of 3)? I was wondering if you must stay there and for how long? Or if there are any closer to the midlands? Cheers!

    Hi Jake. Following success in the Speedbird Pilot Academy, pilots will be based at either British Airways Mainline at Heathrow or British Airways EuroFlyer at Gatwick. This is usually assigned due to fleet requirements. We do not currently have any bases in the Midlands.
