    Dan H. Cabin Crew

Hi Alia, thanks for your question

Wanting to be cabin crew is a fantastic goal, and what really makes someone stand out is the qualities they bring to the role. It’s less about having travelled widely yourself, and more about how you make the journey memorable for the customers onboard. People fly with British Airways for so many different reasons - holidays, business, visiting family -and your role is to support them, reassure them, and make the experience feel special.

Teamwork, resilience, good communication and listening are all essential skills, to name just a few. You’ll be working with a different group of colleagues on every trip, so being able to quickly build rapport and pull together is vital. Staying calm and professional when things don’t go to plan shows resilience, and being a great communicator helps you connect with customers and colleagues alike.

If you’re looking to prepare, gaining experience in any people-facing role can be really valuable - whether that’s hospitality, retail, healthcare or volunteering. It gives you practice in dealing with a wide range of people and situations, which is exactly what you’ll do in the air.

Also make sure you’ve thoroughly researched the role and what it involves. Think about why you want to fly for British Airways in particular, and how you can show that motivation in your application and interview.

You can find more about the role on the Cabin Crew FAQ page and sign up for job alerts here.

If you have any other questions do get in touch - I’d be happy to help answer them for you.

    Dan
