Qualifictation question

I am interested in City Flyer direct entry captain. I am a current E175 FO. Ready for captain. Got about 4000 on type. I am a British citizen. I have FAA and Aust. ATP. I have started a conversion with the UKCAA. How far along the conversion would you like to see before I apply?

Hi Robert, thanks for getting in touch. In order to be considered for the BA CityFlyer Direct Entry Captain position, you need to have 1500 hours PIC time on the E175 or another type of commercial jet or turboprop aircraft.
With your experience, there are other positions that are open to you. You can find these here - https://careers.ba.com/pilots#entry-1

In relation to your question on time-frame between applying for a position and having the UK-issued CAA FCL, this will depend on when you qualified. If your licence falls under route 3, 4, 5 or 6, outlined by the UK CAA, then you don't have to wait before applying as it's expected that this conversion would be completed before job offer. I hope this makes sense. More information on conversion routes can be found on the UK CAA's website.
Good luck completing the conversion process!

Yes it does help. So as I understand it i should have passed all exams at least before the job offer? I guess with the skills test would that be done in training as my company check ride?

Hi Robert, as the Skills Test is part of completing the conversion, this would have to be completed by you before starting.
We recommend getting the conversion underway as soon as possible to prevent any delays; only the CAA can offer information on exactly how long it'll take you to convert your licence as this can vary greatly.

Hi. I have started things happening. I got the exemption from training. The lady at the CAA was very helpful I must say.
