What are the next steps after the academy?

If you don't do the Speedbird program and instead pay to go to a flight academy such as Skyborne. What is the best next steps to becoming a British Airways Pilot? (Preferably for an Airbus). For example if you don't have the type rating for an Airbus A320.

    Hi Felix.

If you self fund for a flight school such as Skyborne there are a number of routes. Some people do modular courses and some integrated so please check the Future Pilots link for requirements for this campaign. This route is not always available and is currently closed to new applicants, however you can sign up for alerts on the website.

Other companies will offer jobs depending on your success at flight school and you can build hours in other airlines and then you can choose to apply to British Airways when you have sufficient hours.

Pilots who work at British Airways have had a wide variety of experiences in how they became a pilot in our company, and having wider experience can be beneficial for your career and personal development.

I wish you luck and hope to see you in the flight deck in the future.

    Best wishes

    Kate
