Hi, thanks for your question.
To work as cabin crew at British Airways, the most important skills are people focused rather than technical. Some of the key ones are:
- Strong communication and listening skills, so you can understand customers’ needs and work closely with your colleagues.
- Teamwork, as you’ll be working with a different crew on almost every flight and relying on each other throughout the day.
- Calmness under pressure, especially when things don’t go exactly to plan.
- Empathy and customer awareness, as people travel for many different reasons and part of the role is helping them feel comfortable, safe and supported.
- Resilience and flexibility, as the hours and lifestyle can be demanding at times.
These skills can be developed in many different ways, through work, study, volunteering or life experience, and you don’t need previous aviation experience to apply.
You can find more detail on the Cabin Crew FAQ page and stay up to date by registering for job alerts.
I hope that helps 😊
