Hi, I was wondering if you are able to get all of your pilot licensing in Canada and still be a pilot at British Airways
This would including getting your ATPL and 1500 hours of flight time in Canada and still being able to fly and apply to British Airways. If not, how would you transfer the hours and how much extra training would be required? Thanks so much.

Hi.
In order to fly for British Airways you need a UK Flight Crew Licence. You can hold more than one licence at a time but you would need to sit UK ATPL exams and meet the requirements for the UK CAA.
It depends on whether you hold a CPL or ATPL and if the UK CAA will give you credit for your training. If you have an unfrozen ATPL it is likely you will need to sit UK CAA theory exams and complete a skills test.
I have added a link which will give you information and also give you an email address to contact the UK CAA directly. They should be able to help you further.
I hope this helps.

Hi -
It doesn't matter where you train and in what country you obtained the hours, if you meet the requirements and convert your licence to a UK one, you will be able to fly for British Airways. Take a look at our Direct Entry Pilot campaign Direct Entry Pilot - First Officer (Long Haul Fleets) at British Airways to see the eligibility criteria, you also will not have to worry about the right to work in the UK as we will also be able to sponsor that for you should you not have it.
You would not require any further training from someone who had trained in the UK, the only extra thing you may need would be a licence skills test in order to convert your licence but you should be able to do that in a type rating upon starting.
Good luck and hope to see an application from you soon!
