Hi - what type of person tends to do well at BA during their pilot training? And what were the benefits of training to be a pilot with BA from day-one?

Hi Joe -
Well, certainly in my case where it didn't come as naturally to me as it did to others, I succeeded because of my ambition and drive. I wanted those wings more than anything and I worked and studied hard to get them. The things that did come more naturally to me were the non-technical skills, which, arguably, are harder to learn. Interpersonal skills, the ability to take on board, constructive feedback and the constant drive to improve and challenge yourself. If selected, it is the job of the student to turn up prepared, disciplined and eager to learn, it is the job of the teacher to teach and with this combination the training will be successful.
The knowledge of being able to work for my dream company right from the beginning was a great motivator! It meant I was fortunate enough to not have the stress of finding a job at the end of my training which was fantastic. Also, being able to have that contact with mentors and liaison pilots was really helpful too.
I hope this helps!
Chloe
