Pilot residence distance requirement

How far are pilots allowed to live from the hub London Heathrow airport , please kindly specify if it is in minutes of drive or certain number of miles. For example I live in Manchester, not too far from the airport around 30 minutes drive, so in total it would be around 2 hours.

    Hello -


    We have crew living all across the world and many commute from Manchester. The only time when you need to be within an hour from the airport, is when you are on call, on standby. Most will either position themselves within an hour's drive, or stay at a hotel during their reserve periods.
