To become a pilot should I do a degree i enjoy or go to college do physics for year then apply for an aviation degree
Speedbird academy prefer experience in aviation however I've not done physics in school so I cant do an aviation degree so should I 1) go to college do physics then apply for an aviation degree the next year 2) do a degree I would enjoy and improve my skills 3) do degree + physics same time

Hi - If you have six GCSEs at grades 5-9, including a science, Maths and English Language, then there is no requirement to gain any further qualifications and you could apply now, provided you also tick all the other boxes.
The next application window opens soon, there is nothing stopping you from trying then. However, if you preferred to continue in academia for now, then personally, I would do something I enjoyed. Although having an Aviation degree may help with some of the groundschool topics, in terms of selection, it has no added benefits.

I'm from Scotland and have only done 5 national 5s (GCSE'S) but by the end of August 2025 I will have done 5 Highers ( A levels) will that compensate for not having the extra GCSE
